A Spy's Tale: Bond Girl Photo Shoot

/ 02 February, 2013 /

My friend recently approached me with shooting her for JamesBondLifestyle.com's Bond Girl Competition.  There was talk of a casino shoot but  there wasn't enough time to hunt for a location for that.

I tossed around the idea of running and hiding, as she mentioned running down a hall. But I had recently been to a location along the 1st St bridge in Los Angeles which I thought held the best potential for this shoot.

The shoot would be about a bond girl/spy making off with a briefcase of money, playing off several photos - Hiding, Confrontation, and Running.  It helps that we had a scary G-Man dressed in proper attire, played by her boyfriend.  Great sport for standing in place for an hour!

I took the better half of the afternoon to shoot this, in part because railroad police kept coming by, 2 other shoots strolled in while we were there. Luckily the cop was nice, let us off with a warning, told us a few stories about shoots he's been on set for there, and offered us cigarettes. For kraft services or coffee, he would have let us jump all over that train! Damn, next time right?

I was luckier to have to have David Barahona as my assistant, helping me throughout the whole shoot! Thank you David!

The contest is up from Feb 1 until the 10th, registering votes here.  My photos are #87, 88, and 89 on the site.
