Keeping your Photos and Videos Archived

I caught this on Gizmodo a while ago and I thought I'd repost it here, considering I just had a hard drive crash. It's fairly informative, but overkill for the average photographer. If it's y our livelihood then that's the level of backing up. Counting, from start to finish, there are easy 25 drives everything is backed up onto! For anyone else though, having a backup at least is a must. I 'm not a fan of Apple's Time Machine, but that is because it does it hourly. There's a program to change the backup times to to your specified time. Personally, I'd go with every few days since the data adds up fast. Terabyte drives are great for backing up but I'll say if one of them goes, you're out a lot of data. Hence why a Raid setup is worth it if you're savvy enough. Drobo I hear has a ton of issues with data disappearing. Anyway, you're supposed to have at least 3 copies of your data according to professionals. One locally on your computer, one on a backup (or is it a backup of the backup), and one off-site (at a friend's place).
Anyone care to talk about their backup workflow?
